DocuMinder

The DocuMinder keeps all of your relevant documents for a case in one convenient database and allows viewing of a wide variety of documents using each document's associated application. The documents in your DocuMinder may reside anywhere on your disk.

The Minder part of the DocuMinder is named because this database also allows you to associate due dates and reminders with individual documents. These reminders may be sent to your Outlook Task scheduler or your Law Partner Docket.

To start the DocuMinder, select the DocuMinder icon from the Cases toolbar or select DocuMinder from the Case Menu.

Adding Files to DocuMinder

To add a file to the case, press the Add button and select a file from the Open File dialog box or double-click a filename in the file browser window. Once the file has been added, enter a Description and press the Update button to save the record. If desired, enter a due date and post appropriate reminders.

Viewing a File in DocuMinder

To view a file in Documinder, select the file to view from the file descriptions list. Double-Click the entry or press the Open button.

The associated application to view the file should open and display the file. In certain situations it may be necessary to first open the application manually. Under most circumstances however, this will not be necessary. In the example below, an HTML file is displayed using Microsoft Internet Explorer, the application associated with displaying web page files.
