Exporting Contacts to Outlook

Individual Advocate 2002 contacts from either the All Contacts Database or Parties Database may be exported to Microsoft Outlook. To do so, select the record you wish to export and then press the Outlook command button located in the lower left of either database.

When the contact management dialog box appears, select the first radio button labeled Export This Advocate 2002 Contact to Outlook Contacts. A perfectly formatted Outlook contact page will appear momentarily and display the information exported. (Note: If this contact already exists in Outlook, the record will not be overwritten but the contact will be located and displayed.)

(Another Note: This process may take only a few seconds or several minutes depending on how fast a computer you are using, how many contacts are in your Outlook contacts folder and other considerations. This is partly because Advocate 2002 scans your existing contacts in Outlook first before writing a record. This ensures that a record which already exists is not overwritten.)
